Monday WOD 20080818

“Tabata Something Else”

Complete 32 intervals of 20 seconds of work followed by ten seconds of rest where the first 8 intervals are pull-ups, the second 8 are push-ups, the third 8 intervals are sit-ups, and finally, the last 8 intervals are squats. There is no rest between exercises.

CFOZ version

Two minutes of cardio (your choice), samson stretch, CFWU x 3 (x 2 if in first two weeks of WODs)

Post total reps from all 32 intervals to comments.

The only scaling neccessary for this WOD is to do whatever version of each exercise you normally do in the warm-up. Tabata intervals are a great resource to use in many situations. Each one only lasts four minutes, and many CrossFitters use them when they do not have access to the gym.

The principle can also be applied to other things. Here is an article from the CrossFit Journal on applying it to your job.

  1. You know, it’s really sad when all I can manage is two rounds of the warmups! My goal is to get to three, and then try to add the actual modified Crossfit workout. Yes, I am very out of shape. ;-)
