Hi and welcome! Pili here, I’ll break the ice. I am a 33 year old mother of two. My children are three and two years-old. Both my pregnancies were on bed rest and/or restricted activity, so I was in pretty poor shape when I started exercising again when my son was 6 months old. In the beginning, I started out with the traditional weight-lifting and cardio routine, but got board quickly. At the time I was a member of a women’s fitness forum, and “met” Jodi Bainbridge of CrossFit Fredricton. She opened my eyes to a whole new world and I will be forever grateful to her.
Just a month later, we moved back to Atlanta and I had the good fortune of having my first session at CrossFit Atlanta with Mike G., an amazing trainer and a CF Monster. My workout was six minutes of “Cindy” and left me sore head to toe, but I was hooked! I have been CrossFitting for over a year, and am now a CrossFit Level I Trainer, CrossFit Level I Running and Endurance Trainer(POSE) and a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. I am in the best shape of my life and getting better every day.
Now let me know a little about yourself and your fitness level and goals in the comments.

Hi! I am a 31 year old mother of two. My kids are 4 and 2. I was an athlete in high school but then when real life started after college I was pretty sedentary. I discovered running last year after I had my second baby and was doing pretty good. I have never done cross fit before but it seems really straightforward. I’m not inthe best shape ever but not the worst either. I am within 15 lbs of my weight at my high school prom. Its so close I can almost see it!!
My goal is to weigh 138 and tighten up the abs and butt.
Thank you for having this website (I just found it). I have always been a runner and have done a bunch of triathlons (before kids) but never had the upper body strength that I wanted because I hated lifting weights. I recently (last Feb) learned about crossfit and I LOVE it. I can do unassisted pullups (up to 8 in a row if fresh!) and my body looks great for being 42 and two kids!
I was intimidated with crossfit at first because I could not (and still cannot) do some of the exercises (handstand pushups, RX weight, etc.) They would always say to scale but some of the people I worked out with seemed to make it feel like it “didn’t count” if you scaled. But seeing your site here has made me feel more welcomed into the crossfit community.
I also live in ATL and work out at home or at Georgia State (I work there) but periodically visit crossfit gyms so maybe we’ll run into each other some day!
Keep up the good work, we need to make everyone feel comfortable working out!
Hello Pili!! I took some time to browse your site…looks like you are doing some great things! Keep it up.
Thanks Jodi. I really do owe it all to you!

I am a 37 year old mother of two. I lost 120 lbs in 2006/2007. I have kept it off for a year. I spent the first half of my life in less than poor shape. My husband loves crossfit and led me to Crossfit O Zone. He is deployed often and I have a hard time down sizing Crossfit on my own. This looks like it is right up my alley. My goal it to be able to run 2 miles with him by my next birthday and to do just one unassisted pull up!
